Alexandra Dedova, a 21-year-old woman, has told a court in Novgorod, Russia, that Dimitry Luchin, 23, ate his 43-year-old lover’s brain and drank her blood after he murdered her in her flat in Valdai.
She explained to the court that Luchin had been trying to summon the devil after his act. She added that he got impatient after waiting for five minutes for the devil to appear. He then broke her skull, roasted her brain and ate it.
The blood, according to her, was his drink after which he slashed her ears, stuffed one in her corpse’s mouth and left the other in the cat’s bowl.
The court also heard that Luchin, who murdered his lover on International Women’s Day, also daubed swear words, including the word ‘whore’ on her body in blood and purple-coloured nail polish.
He was found guilty of murder committed with special cruelty and would serve his sentence in a harsh regime penal colony.
He has been sentenced to 19 years jail for Olga Budunova’s murder. He will serve his sentence in a harsh regime penal colony.
Further findings showed that he had carefully planned the ‘ritualistic cannibalistic murder’ after becoming obsessed with reading about serial killers on the internet.
He admitted to police that he got sexual pleasure from the attack, although he later retracted his confession of guilt, after a crime scene re-enactment in which he showed police how he killed and dismembered the woman.
